B-scan Ultrasound

ELLEX V4: this is a 10MHz high frequency ultrasound that is used to image the back part of the eye (the vitreous and retina). This examination is very important when we cannot see inside the eye due to cataracts or retinal bleeding. In these cases, B-scan ultrasound is the gold standard test to rule out retinal detachment. Retinal detachment is an emergency that must be treated immediately because it can cause irreversible vision loss.
